Overcoming Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are commonplace in our fast-paced, busy, modern lives. We tend to think that the situations we find ourselves in or the people in our lives are the causes of our problems, so we spend a lot of time worrying, trying to figure out how to fix those situations or people, which often just makes us more stressed and anxious.

Buddha taught that all unhappiness, stress and anxiety come from our mind. More specifically, they come from our unrealistic expectations and our exaggerated views of ourself, people around us and the world in general. By learning to identify the actual causes of stress and unhappy thoughts, we can begin to understand how to break free from them.

On this course we will learn simple meditation techniques that enable us to develop a peaceful mind and eliminate feelings of anxiety and stress.

The course will be taught in English.

Time: Saturday 9th December 2017, 10:00 - 13:00.

Place: Maitreya Centre, Tržaška 2, Ljubljana (how to find us)

“With confidence to supreme happiness”

Do you have confidence in your potential to attain pure, lasting happiness?

According to Buddhism, everyone has the potential to attain sublime qualities such as limitless love, compassion and wisdom, which will bring supreme happiness to ourselves and others. The methods for achieving these qualities are known from Buddha’s teachings and they are available to us right now. So what is it that is blocking our path to supreme happiness?

If we have no faith in our potential - if we are not convinced that it even exists or if we lack confidence in our ability to attain pure, lasting happiness – we will never realize our potential.

In this half-day course Gen Palden will, with the wisdom of an accomplished practitioner and in a clear and comprehensible way, explain many practical methods that we can use both in meditation and in our daily activities, and in this way help us to develop faith in our own potential.

As a result you will develop a powerful feeling of optimism and confidence and generate inexhaustible energy that will carry you swiftly and joyfully along your path to supreme happiness.

The course will be taught in English.

Time: Sunday 10th December 2017, 10:30 - 13:00.
